Akeiva is the Financial Education Specialist at the firm. In her role, she creates financial literacy programming for our next-gen clients, speaks and writes on behalf of the firm, works with select clients in a Wealth Planning Associate capacity, and helps implement various Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Before joining the firm in 2017, Akeiva worked as a Tax Intern with Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP and as a Finance Intern with Florida Hospital. She worked for several years as a Student Aid in her alma mater’s Student Financial Services office during her undergraduate career, where she helped students and their families navigate the financial aid and clearance processes.
Akeiva earned a Master of Science in Financial Planning (MSFP) from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University in 2018. She graduated summa cum laude from Washington Adventist University in 2017 with majors in Accounting and Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Akeiva is a CPA, Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), and she earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2019. Akeiva is also a Chartered Special Needs Consultant.
Akeiva currently serves as an ambassador for the CFP Board and an Advisory Board member for CHIP. Akeiva has been quoted in various media outlets, appeared on a nationally syndicated television show, and was featured on numerous podcasts. In 2021, ThinkAdvisor recognized Akeiva as a Luminary in Diversity & Inclusion. Financial Planning magazine also recognized her as an industry Rising Star.
Akeiva is the co-founder of The Bemused. Together with her husband, she promotes financial literacy for young adults and the financial planning profession through multimedia, an online course, and speaks on personal finance topics under the brand.
In her spare time, Akeiva enjoys listening to music, singing, and traveling.
