Waltham, MA, September 14, 2009 – BF&Co (now Ballentine Partners, LLC) is launching Mill Street Investment Management (Mill Street) in an effort to provide investment management and financial planning advice to families with investment portfolios of $3 million and up. The goal is to deliver the same level of personal attention and sophisticated financial advice that Ballentine provides to its ultra-high net worth family clients.
“In developing Mill Street, we originally built a dedicated team of experienced, accessible individuals to address the needs of our clients’ extended family and friends,” stated President Roy Ballentine. “The demand from this new client base for the services offered by Mill Street has exceeded our most optimistic projections and we are now expancing our client base to a broader range of investors.”
Clients of Mill Street benefit from the same investment research and much of the same investment approach as Ballentine’s ultra-high net worth clients. Each client is provided with an ongoing review of their financial situation, highlighting financial planning and investment opportunities that can contribute to their financial planning and investment opportunities that can contribute to their financial security. Clients receive individual attention and an investment strategy that is fully integrated with their overall financial plan, frequently including a review of sophisticated and less liquid investments. The firm’s research team seeks out the best investment vehicles from the universe of choices available in today’s complex marketplace. As with Ballentine, Mill Street is a “fee-only” advisor that does not sell any products or have affiliations with any product sales company, eliminating any potential conflict of interest and adhering to today’s increasingly stringent fiduciary standards.
The Mill Street team is led by Tom Bullitt, who joined Ballentine to develop the Mill Street practice. As both a CFA charterholder and CFP® practitioner, Tom brings more than 30 years of investment and financial planning expertise to each Mill Street client. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the Boston Security Analysts Society and the Financial Planning Association. Prior to joining Ballentine, Tom most recently worked for the Bank of New York (following its acquisition of Beacon Fiduciary Advisors) and Adams, Harkness & Hill, as a Portfolio Manager and Investment Advisor, following seventeen years at the Bank of Boston. His career in the investment business has focused on providing investment advice and financial planning services and on managing investment portfolios for high net worth clients.
