Culture Drives Success
We understand the value of comprehensive and critically integrated advice. As such, we strive to measure success not solely in terms of balance sheets and basis points but also in terms of client service and satisfaction.
We work with our clients on every facet of their wealth management - from short-term liquidity needs and medium-term investment opportunities to estate plans that span generations and provide for children not yet born and legacies not yet built. We work with families to define the goals that they consider most meaningful and impactful and travel with them on their path to continued success.
Our Firm's Philosophy
We were founded to address the particular challenges families with sophisticated and often complex financial situations face. We deliver client-centric counsel, strive to minimize conflicts of interest, and are driven by a culture of respect, inclusivity, and service. Our founder, Roy Ballentine, created the values that helped shape our firm and still drive our business today.
Notably and by design, we are committed to our independence. We serve our clients as a fiduciary, putting their interests ahead of our own. And it's no accident that the tenure of our employees is among the highest in the industry. Our internal stability drives the success of our client engagements. From one generation to the next, our clients know we're here and will continue to be here whenever they need us.
We operate with a code of ethics that defines our culture, reflects our beliefs, and drives our actions - every day. We are committed to adhering to the highest ethical standards in all facets of what we do. Objectivity, reliability, and respect are the foundations of our firm and our client relationships.
Commitment to Continuity
In 2011, our founder passed the leadership torch to the next generation of leaders at Ballentine, successfully executing a 10-year leadership succession plan. Today, our ownership includes 21 employee partners. Most of our client relationships are multi-generational, and our clients appreciate that we have a plan for how our firm will be there for them through these generations.
The Ballentine Difference
As wealth increases, so too can complexity - sometimes quickly. We are adept at understanding, navigating, and resolving the links between wealth planning issues. From multi-jurisdictional legal issues to multi-generational family dynamics, managing connected and sometimes competing objectives is an essential part of our work.
Opportunities to improve wealth planning are often found in the spaces between investment strategy, tax planning, family wealth transfer planning, and charitable giving. Our experienced and knowledgeable advisors are well-positioned to identify untapped opportunities in even the most complex financial situations.
Led by our highly experienced financial planners, each client engagement draws upon the deep knowledge of specialists across critical areas, as needed.
Certified B Corporation
Our business is now B Corp Certified. As a B Corp, we’re part of a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact. This marks a significant milestone in our ongoing journey towards continuous improvement and collective action. We are now counted among businesses leading a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. We measure and manage the impact of the business on our employees, clients, community, and the environment with as much rigor as we manage and monitor investments and wealth planning.
Our Commitment to DEI
At Ballentine we believe in maintaining an inclusive environment where diverse ideas and diverse people thrive across the firm. We are committed to the idea that building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive culture fosters a more productive, innovative, and engaged workforce. Our employees bring unique perspectives and experiences to the table, helping us to deliver the best possible solutions for our clients. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in our hiring practices, employee training, development programs, and in the way we interact with each other daily. These practices help us attract top talent to our organization. We feel it is important that everyone feel valued and supported, and in so doing, we find the best in each and every one of us.
