Waltham, MA – January 9, 2025– Ballentine Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Christian Murtie, MBA, as its new Chief Wealth Advisory Officer, effective January 1, 2025. In her new role, Jennifer will oversee all Ballentine Partners’ wealth advisors while guiding the strategic direction of our wealth advisory practice—ensuring clients continue to receive integrated financial planning, investment management, and family well-being solutions. She will also retain her position on the firm’s Board of Managers.
Jennifer brings a wealth of experience to this position, having led the firm’s High Net Worth team since 2019. Her proven track record in overseeing client strategies, delivering tailored solutions, managing teams, and driving growth, positions her perfectly for this expanded leadership role. “Helping families navigate life’s complexities is my passion,” said Jennifer. “I look forward to collaborating with our talented teams to maintain the personalized, high-impact support that our clients rely on.”
Prior to joining Ballentine Partners, Jennifer was COO at Pathstone; before that, she was President at Federal Street Advisors until its acquisition by Pathstone in 2016. Her experience spans leadership roles in client service, operations, marketing, and strategic business initiatives. Earlier in her career, she held positions at The Moriah Fund and Old Silk LLC, further strengthening her expertise in wealth management, team leadership, and philanthropy.
A recognized thought leader in wealth management and philanthropy, Jennifer has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Private Wealth, and Nonprofit News for her expertise in impact investing and philanthropy. Jennifer is a sought-after speaker at industry conferences and regularly participates in panels addressing wealth management topics. She also serves on the board of a private family foundation.
Jennifer holds an MBA from the Simmons School of Management and a BA in Sociology and International Relations from Houghton University. Outside of work, she enjoys family time, traveling, and golf. She resides in Winchester, MA, with her husband and children.
