Ballentine Partners has named William Lawrence Braman as Chief Investment Officer, effective June 4.
Mr. Braman was CEO of Fortis Investment Management USA until its recent acquisition by BNP Paribas. Previously, he held the Chief Investment Officer position at John Hancock Advisers and, before that, Baring Asset Management.
“Will has 30 years of experience in asset management, including more than 20 years in executive leadership roles,” said Drew McMorrow, the President of Ballentine Partners. “In addition to his extensive investment experience, he brings to Ballentine Partners a client-centric focus and strong team ethic, two qualities that perfectly align with our firm’s culture.”
Mr. Braman and the existing investment team oversee more than $6.5B in assets under advisement, spread across traditional investments, hedge funds and private equity.
Mr. Braman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Bucknell University.
