Investment Advisor Jake Northrup, CFP®, CFA, has just been announced as the next Director of the Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts’ NexGen group. Jake will be leading the NexGen initiative in Massachusetts, which includes strengthening relationships with other professional organizations, curating events for early-career financial planning professionals, and cultivating an environment that empowers the next generation of financial planners. Jake is an Investment Advisor and part of the high net worth team that caters to clients with $3 million or more investment assets. He works directly with clients on all aspects of their financial affairs including investment, tax, estate, retirement, college, business and debt planning. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Colman Knight Advisory Group where he conducted investment research and provided financial planning services to high net worth clients. Earlier in his career, Jake held positions in the finance department at Raytheon and the investment operations department at State Street. Jake graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2014 with a major in Finance and minor in Economics. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a Chartered Financial Analyst. Jake fulfills his passion for teaching as an adjunct professor for the Boston University Financial Planning Program where he teaches Retirement Planning and Employee benefits. He is also actively involved in the financial planning community as the director of the NexGen group for the Massachusetts Financial Planning Association, as well as his involvement on the networking committee for the Trusts and Estates Consortium.
