We’re proud to announce that Partner & Senior Client Advisor Sheila C. Lawrence, MALD, CFP®, has been recognized as one of Investment News’ 40 Under 40 honorees for 2018. The 40 Under 40 project shines a spotlight on exceptional young financial services professionals that not only have already amassed impressive accomplishments, but also show leadership and promise for the future of the industry.
A significant portion of Sheila’s practice involves estate planning, wealth transfer and investment management with a particular focus on philanthropy, financial education and coaching for the rising generation. She works closely with each member of a family to ensure continuation of values from one generation to the next. In addition to the dedicated care and knowledgeable advice Sheila provides to clients every day, she also is active in the Boston area financial services industry. She serves as the chair of the Boston Estate Planning Council’s Public and Community Outreach Committee and is a past co-chair of the Professional Advisors Network at The Boston Foundation.
Sheila is a member of New England International Donors, an organization that brings together philanthropists, experts, and advisors to address some of the world’s most pressing issues. Sheila is participating in NEID’s 2018 giving circle on mitigating global climate change.
Outside of the industry, Sheila is a mentor for SCS Noonan Scholars, which provides career advice, networking, and scholarship support to high-achieving students in underserved communities. She and her family also volunteer as a host family with the METCO program through the Lexington, MA public schools.
Her passion for environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture starts at home, where she lives on a farm and serves on the board of Lexington Community Farm Coalition. Fondly referred to by her colleagues as “the compost lady”, Sheila spearheaded the composting initiative at our Waltham headquarters, significantly reducing the amount of waste we send to landfills.
