Jennifer Dowling Dougherty, Senior Investment Advisor at Ballentine Partners, moderated a panel at HUBweek Boston, co-hosted by Golden Seeds and the Harvard Business School Women’s Association on angel investing. Entitled “Entrepreneurs and Angel Investor Partnerships: More Than Just Money”, the panel discussed best practices and how women can occupy more of the business ownership space.

Jennifer is a Managing Director and Senior Investment Advisor and part of the team that caters to clients with $3 million or more of investment assets.  She consults with clients on all aspects of their financial affairs including investment, tax, estate, insurance, philanthropic, college, retirement, debt, and liquidity planning.  Prior to joining Ballentine Partners, Jennifer served as Chief Operating Officer and Principal at U.S. Boston Capital Corporation where she also served high net worth clients.  She also provided leadership to the firm’s investment processes, operational and technology improvements, and private investment management.  Earlier in her career, Jennifer worked as an engineer at AT&T Bell Labs, a consultant at Coopers & Lybrand, a senior administrator at MIT, as most recently as a Managing Director in the Executive Education division at Harvard Business School. Her career shift to wealth management in 2007 allowed her to combine her financial, consulting, and analytical skills with her passion for organization, continuous improvement, and service toward long-term professional relationships. She finds great joy in helping families and small businesses develop plans that reflect their values and goals.
