James is a Wealth Planning Associate on the Family Office team. He provides support to Wealth Planners and Senior Client Advisors at the firm.
Prior to joining Ballentine Partners in 2024, James worked at MSCI as an ESG & Climate Consultant. He assisted asset management and insurance clients with use cases such as ESG integration, carbon footprinting, and regulatory reporting. Prior to working at MSCI, James was a Senior Relationship Associate at Brown Brothers Harriman on the Private Wealth Management team. In this role, James worked directly with high-net worth individuals and families to help them reach their financial goals. He also held positions on the private banking risk management and alternatives client service teams while at BBH.
James graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and a minor in Environmental Science. While at Dartmouth, James competed on the varsity golf team and remains involved as a member of the Friends of Dartmouth Golf Advisory Board.
James is a New Hampshire native and currently lives in Somerville, MA. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and basketball, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. He is also an avid Boston sports fan.
