Jennifer Christian Murtie serves as Chief Wealth Advisory Officer of Ballentine Partners. She oversees all the firm’s wealth advisors while guiding the strategic direction of our wealth advisory practice—ensuring clients continue to receive integrated financial planning, investment management, and family well-being solutions. She is a Partner and serves on the firm’s Board of Managers.

Previously, Jennifer led our High Net Worth Practice, which caters to clients with $4 million – $30 million of investable assets. The team provides a fully integrated approach to financial planning and investment management. The team also provides clients with access to the investment strategy enjoyed by the full range of the firm’s family office clients, scaled to fit their circumstances.

Prior to joining Ballentine Partners, Jennifer was COO at Pathstone; before that, she was President at Federal Street Advisors until its acquisition by Pathstone in 2016. Her experience spans leadership roles in client service, operations, marketing, and strategic business initiatives. Earlier in her career, she held positions at The Moriah Fund and Old Silk LLC, further strengthening her expertise in wealth management, team leadership, and philanthropy.

A recognized thought leader in wealth management and philanthropy, Jennifer has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Private Wealth, and Nonprofit News for her expertise in impact investing and philanthropy. Jennifer is a sought-after speaker at industry conferences and regularly participates in panels addressing wealth management topics. She also serves on the board of a private family foundation.

Jennifer holds an MBA from the Simmons School of Management and a BA in Sociology and International Relations from Houghton University. Outside of work, she enjoys family time, traveling, and golf. She resides in Winchester, MA, with her husband and children.
