Juan is a Senior Quantitative Manager at Ballentine Partners, where he supports the firm’s investment and advisory functions through quantitative research, financial modeling, and asset allocation analysis. He collaborates across divisions on proprietary research initiatives, compiles economic data and reports for client meetings, and develops and maintains in-house analytical tools and software applications. In recent years, Juan has taken on a formal role in the firm’s artificial intelligence strategy, leading efforts to evaluate, adopt, and implement AI capabilities across the organization. He also provides direct investment support to a select number of client relationships.
Prior to joining the firm in 2016, Juan spent eleven years at Ameriprise Financial, where he worked directly with clients on comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services.
Juan relocated from Colombia to the United States in 1996 to pursue a BS in Economics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, followed by an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Information Technology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner, a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), and is a member of the CFA Society of South Florida.
Outside of work, Juan is an avid reader and working on writing long-form fiction. He stays engaged with the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence as both a professional pursuit and a personal interest. He and his wife enjoy training together at the gym and traveling internationally each year.
